GITEX 2013 is under way – Stay up to date with #GemaltoGITEX

Last updated: 11 April 2014

The 2013 edition of the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) begins today at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The five day event, running until the 24th, serves as the ICT business, new product platform and innovation gateway to the Middle East, North Africa and the South Asian region.

More than 3,500 companies will be represented at the exhibition, the majority of which will be showcasing their latest and greatest solutions to the world. In particular, this occasion is a key demonstration opportunity for digital security solutions; M2M, NFC, eGovernance and secure banking solutions are increasingly in demand throughout the Middle East and will consequently be under the spotlight throughout the week. In light of this, GITEX will be the Middle Eastern window to the world, displaying how exactly this region will progress securely into the future whilst maintaining its rapid rate of technological progress

In addition to the large online blog and twitter following for this event, this celebration of technology will also attract in excess of 138,000 tech-focused visitors to Dubai from 144 countries. Unsurprisingly, the crowds will be big, and the pressure on cloud data will be even bigger. And as 7 Days in Dubai has highlighted, the topic of ‘big data’ and ‘how to store it in cloud networks’ will be high on the agenda.

Fortunately, Dubai will be the perfect venue for this, as it is now progressing towards smart city status. After the move to NFC for travel services and ambitions towards the implementation of mobile ID and mobile payment, Dubai has a valid claim to being the most technologically advanced city in the Middle East.

So, if you’re at GITEX and want to see what solutions we’re creating for a smarter, more secureworld, come over to our stand (Hall 7, booth A7-35) for demonstrations including mobile payments, vehicle emergency call, mHealth monitoring, mobile ID, bank card customization, NFC-enabled digital business cards and more.

And if you want a chance to win an iPad mini, tweet to us with your thoughts on life-changing technology and which one of our demonstrations you find most intriguing.  Use #GemaltoGITEX and we won’t miss your tweet.
