From the Connected House to the Connected City

Last updated: 11 April 2014

A bigger Fira means a bigger connected venue: last year’s Connected House was only the beginning, with this year’s Mobile World Congress boasting a whole Connected City. And so of course we have been to visit it.

Launched in conjunction with the likes of AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, KT, Telenor Connexion and Vodafone, there’s a car with its own app store, a smart fridge and an ‘online’ bike that monitors your performance. As with any new city, we have only scratched the surface and will be doing further investigations into the city of the future. In the meantime, have a look at this video from BBC tech journalist Dougal Shaw: http://www.tout.com/m/0ezp4y

Interestingly we noted it’s in the same hall as Cisco and Intel, both of whom have tag lines outlining the future (or tomorrow). And we all know the future is connected!

If you can’t get as far as Hall 3 to visit the Connected City, stop by our stand in Hall 5 for a taste of our Audi connected car (Stand 5G120).
