We recently hosted a webinar, Building a Smarter Internet of Things, exploring the future of IoT with Frost & Sullivan and our partner, West Safety Services. There was a lot of information covered in a short amount of time, so we want to make sure that those of you who weren’t able to attend are still able to learn.
I will be covering the key takeaways from that webinar in next week’s blog, but first, how exactly do Gemalto and West Safety Services work together? Let’s take a look at the M2M chain of events using the simple example of traffic.
When an accident causes traffic on your daily commute, frustration abounds and several drivers wonder what – if anything – is being done to correct it.
In fact, several remote devices are working together to gather information: crash sensors in the vehicle send data to first responders, and sensors in the road and traffic cameras send information to satellites who can then re-route traffic until the accident is cleared.
The data from those sensors is collected, consolidated and sent to an application enablement platform. That’s Gemalto.
The data is then translated into relevant and useful analytics, which are then provided to businesses, first responders, traffic analysts, etc. to access and utilize efficiently. That’s West Safety Services.
We work together using the Internet of Things to improve public safety and to get you where you need, hassle-free and on time.
