CTIA Wireless 2011 is coming up next week and Gemalto is set to demonstrate a host of NFC enabled solutions. NFC has certainly become a hot topic of late, with many announcements at Mobile World Congress (at least 2 handsets from Samsung), and it is a subject we have been working on for many years. We have been involved in many NFC trials throughout the world (we currently have over 45 pilot programs and pre-commercial launches worldwide).
The USA is an exciting market with many trials such as in Atlanta. The main operators, AT&T, Verizon & T-Mobile were all involved to get US mobile users paying with a wave of their phone, as covered by Bloomberg last August. We are therefore excited to showcase the possibilities of NFC in the North American market at CTIA.
If you’re going to be in Orlando next week please visit our booth (#2421) where we will be showing the latest NFC solutions as well as the other mobile demos including:
- International Remittance
- Bill Pay
- Credit Application & Transactions
- Taxi and Transit Payment
- Trusted Service Management
- Wi-Fi Roaming with all devices
- LTE OTA Activation Process & Device Management
- Permission-based Mobile Marketing
Also at the show, our Head of Business Development for North America, Jean-Louis Carrara will be participating in a panel session addressing the future of NFC and how current trials are enabling mobile payment solutions.
Check back in for news releases and additional information closer to the show. And I hope to see you in Orlando.
