In the wake of high-profile leaks, breaches, and hacks at large companies I took some time to reflect on my experiences as a gamer. I can’t argue that I’ve had the longest or most successful gaming career, but I certainly have enjoyed being a part of a community and ecosystem that is unique to my generation. I was five years old when my parents gave me the original Nintendo. Throw in a system from every console generation since 1990 (sometimes every system from a console generation), top with a heavy portion of PC gaming in high school and college and you have the recipe for my memory casserole.
This blog series will offer my reflections on security issues in the gaming world over time and how these issues have impacted game developers and the gamers who loved them.
