CTIA Wireless 2011 is coming up next week and Gemalto is set to demonstrate a host of NFC enabled solutions. NFC has certainly become a hot topic of late, with many announcements at Mobile World Congress (at least 2 handsets from Samsung),
and it is a subject we have been working on for many years. We have been involved in many NFC trials throughout the world (we currently have over 45 pilot programs and pre-commercial launches worldwide).
The USA is an exciting market with many trials such as in Atlanta. The main operators, AT&T, Verizon & T-Mobile were all involved to get US mobile users paying with a wave of their phone, as covered by Bloomberg last August. We are therefore excited to showcase the possibilities of NFC in the North American market at CTIA.
