NFC is always a hot topic, especially at NFC World Congress

Last updated: 20 March 2014

Just a few weeks ago NFC services launched in Singapore and with over 20,000 point-of-sales, it is an exciting time to see where NFC technology will take us. For those of you, who are more visually inclined, take a look at this infographic outlining a day in the life of an NFC user.

The mobile contactless revolution has only just begun but commercial businesses are already seeing the added value. As reported recently by NFC World, French supermarket group, Casino, announced it will launch the first NFC-enabled supermarket in Paris in October.

However, it won’t be the first in France; Nice was inaugurated the first NFC city in France and is host to the NFC World Congress. It is an opportunity to bring together market leaders and partners under one roof to share, exhibit, and discuss new and developing innovations in the technology. The annual event is celebrating its second year and anticipates a turnout of over 2,500 professionals from 65 countries.

The mission of the congress is to cultivate the ecosystem during the three day conference, taking place from 17th-19th of September. This year the conference will be covering many different themes, all with the goal of highlighting the benefits of a mobile connected way of life (a bit like the Connected House on display at Mobile World Congress earlier this year). As one of the active participants at NFC World Congress, we will be demonstrating the advantages of managing one’s financial services from a smartphone.

Check back here over the next couple of days for another update from NFC World Congress and the innovations and topics you are likely to see emerge in the upcoming months. And, if you’re attending, swing by the stand to catch up with us at Booth 32. Hope to see you there!
