A few years ago at Mobile World Congress, as NFC was beginning to gain traction as a mainstream technology, much was made of the possibilities of mobile wallets. Today, those possibilities have become a reality.
The videos below give a step-by-step demonstration of how the mobile wallet now works in practice.Gemalto’s Mobile Wallet solution offers end-users and retailers alike a quick, convenient, personalized and secure means of shopping and paying, which combines in the same application all of the end-user’s payment details, loyalty schemes and couponing programs. Thanks to this multi-channel Mobile Wallet customers are able to make proximity payments in-store, both NFC and cloud based payments, and online transactions as well
Gemalto is also showcasing its latest innovation in Personal Smart Shopper; a solution which will offer consumers an end-to-end shopping assistant (before, during and after their shopping trip). Prior to shopping they can produce personalized lists, then during their shopping trip retailers can target them with personalized coupons. At the same time, shoppers simply self-scan their own items with their phone as they pick them up and then check-out by tapping their phone on the way out.
You can find more information on these demos here, and of course if you’re present at MWC yourself, why not come and take a look at Hall 5 Stand A80.
